Montenegro’s Citizenship-by-Investment Programme

The Montenegro citizenship program concluded on December 31, 2022. Contact us for detailed information on alternative options.

Nestled in the heart of the Balkans, Montenegro captivates with its diverse landscapes, from the Adriatic coastline to rugged mountainous terrain. A jewel of Southeast Europe, this small nation boasts medieval towns like Kotor (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and the vibrant capital, Podgorica.

Montenegro’s allure extends beyond its scenic beauty, offering a unique blend of history, culture, and warm hospitality. And it’s now possible to be part of this unique nation. In 2019, Montenegro introduced a citizenship-by-investment program, presenting a more cost-effective citizenship option than other European nations.

Distinct from other citizenship-by-investment routes, Montenegro is presently not a member of the European Union, though indications suggest this status may change by 2025. Despite this, the country holds NATO membership, granting its citizens visa-free access to over 124 countries. Additionally, Montenegrins are eligible to apply to the E-2 Treaty Program, successful applicants of which are permitted to reside and work in the USA.

Beyond its affordability, Montenegro’s citizenship-by-investment program boasts a swift processing time, with residency granted in just three weeks and citizenship approval within months. In this article, we will discuss everything you need to know, focusing on the following areas:

  • Benefits of Montenegro’s citizenship
  • Investment types
  • Financial requirements
  • Legal requirements
  • Application process
  • Documents required for Montenegro’s citizenship
